Teo Babun
President-Outreach Aid to the Americas (OAA)
Dr. Teo Babun, was born in Cuba and immigrated to the U.S. at age 12 following the confiscation of his family’s belongings by the leaders of the Cuban Revolution. He is president of Outreach Aid to the Americas, Inc. (OAA), involved in advocacy for freedom of religion & belief, human rights, humanitarian assistance, and social services in Cuba, Central America, and the Caribbean. Prior to leading a Christian ministry Teo was involved in strategic planning, manufacturing, shipping, and hedge fund managing.
Teo is a graduate of Michigan Tech University with a major in Electrical Engineering, and a master’s in business administration. In 1981, he received the Outstanding Alumni Award and was inducted into the Michigan Tech’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Academy for developing the TO-5, then the “world’s smallest solenoid”. Following the fall of the Soviet Union he introduced the first private investment (and later a Hedge Fund) for the reconstruction of a post-Castro Cuba. In 1999, he received an Honorary Doctor of Letters from Miami International Seminary for his philanthropic endeavors, and in 2006 he received a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Vision International University.
He has written numerous books on Cuba and living deeply in devotion to God.
